If you cancel your place at least 5 working days before the course start date, you will be offered a full refund. If you cancel your place within 5 working days of the course start date, you are unfortunately not eligible for a refund.

The Trinity Term courses will be running online. Priority is first given to students from the above colleges to book onto their course. This means that, until the 19th April, only students from those colleges can register and pay for their respective courses. Students from other colleges can register for any course without paying, which adds them to our waiting list. If you are on the waiting list, you will be contacted in 0th Week of Trinity term to fill up any remaining spaces.

To verify your student status and your membership to a particular Oxford College, please enter your Oxford University college email address. This will determine whether you are taken through to payment or added to the waiting list. Thank you for your cooperation!

PLEASE NOTE: The Trinity Term courses are being delivered live online through the Zoom https://zoom.us platform. With all our courses we work hard to provide a safe environment to enable participants to fully engage with the programme. To support us with this, when engaging online we ask that you consider your environment when participating in these sessions. Where possible please use a private space where you will not be disturbed so that you and the group can achieve the highest levels of participation and confidentiality. Is this course for me?

It is intended as an introduction to mindfulness and is taught in 8 weekly sessions, along with home practice. If you are not a student but wish to take part in a course, please sign up for a course for the general public at the Oxford Mindfulness Centre.

Please note: this course is not a treatment for any specific physical or psychological condition, and is not suitable for people who are currently experiencing very severe problems in these areas. Before booking, we ask you to read more information so you can decide whether the course is suitable for you at this time. What will I learn?

You will learn to cultivate mindfulness on two levels: First and foremost are the core mindfulness meditation practices. You will be taught a series of simple daily meditations that can be done almost anywhere. Some are as short as 3 minutes, while others may take 15 minutes. Second, mindfulness encourages you to break some of the unconscious habits of thinking and behaving that stop you living your life to the full. Many judgmental and self-critical thoughts arise out of habitual ways of thinking and acting. By breaking with unhelpful daily routines you’ll progressively dissolve some of these negative thinking patterns and become more mindful and aware.

I wanted to reiterate how grateful I am for your Mindfulness course in general, as well as the refresher. I really struggle a lot with anxiety, depression and staying motivated in my work and life, and Mindfulness has totally changed my approach to managing those things.

How much does it cost?

£65. Students at Oxford University are offered a special discounted price because the course is subsidised in line with our charitable objectives. You will also be asked to obtain a copy of the course text, Mindfulness: A Practical Guide to Finding Peace in a Frantic World by Mark Williams and Danny Penman.

Who will teach me?

All of our mindfulness course teachers are fully trained, meet Good Practice Guidelines and have received the OMC Certificate of Competence to teach MBCT.
