SOCIAL EVENING FEBRUARY 2023

We host a Social Evening on the last Friday of each month – our next Social Evening is on 24th February 2023. Susan Peacock has kindly agreed to lead a session on mindfulness and poetry.

“One of the joys of my connection with mindfulness has been an introduction to the world of mindful poetry. I’m sure there are certain poems that feel particularly poignant to each of us. I’d love to share some of the poems that I hold in my heart and I welcome hearing how these poems land with you. Do join us for this informal OMF social evening on the 24th February.” – Susan Peacock

SHARING FROM THE OMF

With thanks to academics in the field, we are sharing research with the OMF community.  You can read more from a 2023 paper – Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy for Fatigue in Patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease: Results of a Randomized Controlled Trial by clicking on the image below. The research and reporting in this article are independent of the OMF.

This week’s quote comes from the book ‘The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse’ by Charlie Mackesy.

This week’s book reading is Reasons to Stay Alive by Matt Haig. Read by OMF Comms and Fundraising Officer, Sally Bolton.

We’ve also shared one piece of mindfulness-related news every day. A favourite from this week was this article from The Guardian – The stress secret: 12 ways to meditate – without actually meditating. Click on the image below to read.
