Nuestra cita semanal proviene del escritor Miguel de Cervantes, por boca de su famoso Don Quijote. This week’s quote comes from the writer Miguel de Cervantes’ famous book Don Quijote.

This week’s book reading is taken from The Wise Heart by Jack Kornfield. Kindly read by OMF teacher, Linn Brynildsen.

LEARN MINDFULNESS

Here are the courses we highlighted this week. Click on the image for more information and to apply.

There are four more opportunities to start a Mindfulness for Life course in December. Mindfulness for Life (sometimes referred to as MBCT-L) is a course designed to cultivate mindful awareness of our body, emotions and mind so that we can live our lives with a greater sense of wellbeing, kindness and resilience. It is an evidence-based course, developed in the light of research at Oxford University and other leading research centres. It has two main intentions: to offer you some skills to meet life’s challenges and difficulties, both internal and external; as well as skills to develop more awareness and appreciation of the pleasant moments in life that we can often overlook. In other words, to respond more skilfully to all of life’s inevitable ups and downs. For more info and to apply, please click on the image.

TEACH MINDFULNESS

Are you a MBSR teacher interested in training in Mindfulness for Life (MBCT-L)? We have a teacher training commecing in January 2023. For more information and to apply, please click on the image.

We are also offering an opportunity for MBCT teachers to train to deliver the Mindfulness for Life curriculum. For more info and to apply, please click on the image.

Letting in the Light – this new one-day workshop aims to help mindfulness teachers develop their capacity to build positive emotion experience through up-regulation of the positive valence system using mindfulness techniques (both in group delivery formats and as one component of individual treatments).

New workshop: Mindfulness-informed Cancer Care. This experiential training is for those currently working with people with cancer, who have some experience / interest in mindfulness, and would like to explore what this might offer them and their work.

RETREATS & PRACTICE DAYS

We are running an online day of practice on Sunday 18th December 9:00 – 14:00 UK Time. This will offer an opportunity to deepen your mindfulness practice in a supportive online group setting. It is suitable for those with an existing mindfulness practice. It also forms part of what the British Association of Mindfulness-Based Approaches (BAMBA) outlines as continued professional development. For more info and to apply, please click on the image.

KEYNOTE & SOCIAL EVENING

We have great news to share regarding the November social evening and the last keynote of the year. We are delighted that Shannon Harvey, multi-award winning director, has agreed to give our December keynote. The title of Shannon’s talk is My Year of Living Mindfully (What Happened Next). In preparation for the keynote, November’s social evening will be a showing of Shannon’s film My Year of Living Mindfully. Please note the longer session time to give us chance to watch the whole film together as a community, hosted by Liz Lord. We hope you are as excited as we are. To register for the events (if you haven’t already), please sign up by clicking on the image.

NEWS UPDATES

We released a blog discussing our new partnership with the University of Algarve (the first university in Portugal to offer MBCT teacher training). Take a read by clicking on the image.
