The Oxford Mindfulness Centre (OMC) was established in 2007 as a collaboration between the University of Oxford Department of Psychiatry and the Oxford Mindfulness Foundation (OMF), an independent charity. This collaboration continues around MBCT curricula development, research on impact, and field wide communications.

The OMF is now offering all our teaching, training and ongoing development activities under the Oxford Mindfulness Foundation (OMF) name rather than as the Oxford Mindfulness Centre (OMC).

In response to the significant growth in mindfulness over the last few years the OMF has increased partnerships with world leading universities and field leaders. In order to support this growth with an appropriate organisational structure the OMF will be delivering all teaching, training and ongoing development activities through the charity using the name Oxford Mindfulness Foundation.

Teaching and training

This will not affect the current curricula and there will be no changes to your existing arrangements.

Social media and communications

The Oxford Mindfulness Foundation will use most of the current social media channels, they will be named and described clearly as OMF channels. The OMF will establish a new twitter account @OMF_mindfulness. The current twitter account will be used by the University of Oxford mindfulness research centre specifically for science-based communications.

Mailing Lists

For clarity there will now be two mailing lists:

  1. The OMF: this will provide information on courses, teacher training and ongoing development activities (eg workshops, keynotes etc). To join this mailing list click here
  2. The OMC: this will share field-wide communications relating to latest research, curricula or other significant field developments. To join this mailing list click here
