Who am I?
I am a mindfulness teacher and a clinician.
I trained as a General Practitioner both in the UK and in France. I have experience in Mental Health having spent three years on the Oxford rotational scheme in Psychiatry and been a Resident Medical Officer in the Royal Masonic Hospital Department of Psychiatry , London. I hold French post graduate certificates in Psycho Somatic medicine, Health and migration and a diploma in Acupuncture .
My first encounter with mindfulness was a residential MBSR Course organised by Bangor CMRP . I further trained in MBCT mostly at the Oxford Mindfulness Centre and Sainte Anne Psychiatric Hospital in Paris where I have been co teaching MBCT to bipolar patients.
I am interested in teaching clinical and non clinical populations who may encounter difficulty in accessing groups. With that in mind I further trained in MBCT-L, in the new program developed by the OMC“ Mindfulness: Taking it further Deepening and sustaining mindfulness for Life“ and completed the most recent David Treleaven Trauma Sensitive Mindfulness course.
What do I do?
In London I maintain a small private medical practice and am the appraisal lead to three Small Designated Bodies for NHS England. I mostly teach mindfulness on line and in person both in the UK and in France. Courses are taught in English and in French. I teach MBCT and MBCT-L courses to clinical and non clinical populations. I set up and host with the support of other teachers the on line Friends of Bangor Tuesday lunchtime meditation group .
Since the beginning of the first lockdown in March 2020 I have joined forces with colleagues to set up and co teach weekly on line meditation drop in sessions in English and in French . The intention is to offer an anchor and development opportunity to those who are not in a position to join a local group . Both groups are very international. In 2021 I shall also be offering the new programme developed by the OMC 12 modules “Beyond the 8 week course Deepening and Sustaining Mindfulness for Life“ and a tailored made programme for healthcare professionals I designed at the invitation of the French Charity SPS “Soins pour les Professionnels en santé“ ( caring for healthcare professionals )to be delivered both in person and on line.
