New Training Pathway for MBCT Teachers

New Training Pathway for MBCT Teachers

The Oxford Mindfulness Centre launches a newly revised training pathway for MBCT teachers and trainers.

Following a review of its training offerings for aspiring MBCT teachers, the OMC has created a revised and updated training pathway. The new pathway provides a sequential approach to the development of advanced skills as an MBCT teacher and includes four steps: Foundational Training, Apprentice Teaching, Competency Assessment, and Continuing Education.

The new pathway can be pursued through either an academic or non-academic route. The academic route is the Master of Studies in MBCT, a rigorous two-year part-time program leading to a degree from the University of Oxford. The new non-academic route is designed to be practical and accessible, with a strong emphasis on teaching, professional skills and a solid grounding in theoretical and empirical underpinnings as well as personal practice. Its content is organized into modules that can be delivered in flexible formats. More information about the new pathway can be found on the training pages of the website.
