2021 Philanthropic Impact
Just before the start of 2021, the Oxford Mindfulness Centre wrote to members of the mindfulness community for their support. To all those who gave so generously, thank you! With your contributions, we were able to:
Recruit a researcher to better understand the Mindfulness for Life course. Your donations made this happen and we now have a researcher actively looking at the experiences of those who join these courses.
Mindfulness more accessible to those who could not afford it. Through your contributions, the OMC helped to provide access to mindfulness for many people who had lost their income due to Covid-19. Training places, gifted by the community, have been offered to aspiring teachers who will take mindfulness to refugees, the LBGTQ communities and those working in the criminal justice system.
Transition to online delivery. Thanks to your generosity, the OMC website and IT system was updated to facilitate online courses, helping us to remain sustainable and delivering mindfulness to participants in over 80 countries, while directly providing courses and teacher training in English, Spanish, Mandarin and Portuguese.
Daily meditation sessions by some of the very best teachers in the field – completely free to attend as a charitable gift to the community. Thousands have registered and without your generosity this simply wouldn’t be possible.
This is only a snippet of the amazing work made possible due to the donations kindly offered which ‘top-up’ the income we receive from teaching and training. As a charity our business model is to keep the participant costs as low as possible, our aim is to support increased access and offer additional support from donations where financial barriers remain.
I am now writing to ask you to give again. The mission of the Oxford Mindfulness Centre has never been more important, better understanding the transformative impact of mindfulness and providing training to communities affected by the mental health challenges of the global pandemic.
Please give to support the Oxford Mindfulness Centre’s activities in 2022, including bursaries for mindfulness teacher training for underrepresented communities, regular no-cost sessions for the OMC’s growing online audience and continuing research that shows the vital role mindfulness can play in mental health care systems in the UK and around the world.

All donation amounts are most welcome and very gratefully received. If you would like to make a profound difference to mindfulness training and research this next year, please contact me to discuss how a gift of £10,000 or more would change lives through the Oxford Mindfulness Centre. I would love to hear from you via ceo@oxfordmindfulness.org
Sincere thanks for your engagement, encouragement, and support over the past year. As I look forward to 2022, I know that together, we can do even more to help those in need.
With much appreciation,
Sharon Hadley – Chief Executive Officer
