SOCIAL EVENING FEBRUARY 2023
We host a Social Evening on the last Friday of each month – our next Social Evening is on 24th February 2023. Susan Peacock has kindly agreed to lead a session on mindfulness and poetry.
“One of the joys of my connection with mindfulness has been an introduction to the world of mindful poetry. I’m sure there are certain poems that feel particularly poignant to each of us. I’d love to share some of the poems that I hold in my heart and I welcome hearing how these poems land with you. Do join us for this informal OMF social evening on the 24th February.” – Susan Peacock
SHARING FROM THE OMF
With thanks to academics in the field, we are sharing research with the OMF community. You can read more from a 2023 paper – The effects of short interventions of focused-attention vs. self-compassion mindfulness meditation on undergraduate students: Evidence from self-report, classroom performance, and ERPs by clicking on the image below. The research and reporting in this article are independent of the OMF.
This week’s quote comes from Jon Kabat-Zinn.
This week’s book reading is For a New Beginning from John O’Donohue’s Benedictus. Kindly read by OMF teacher and mentor, Per Norrgren.
We’ve also shared one piece of mindfulness-related news every day. A favourite from this week was this article from The Big Think – What to do if your inner voice is cruel. Click on the image below to read.
