KEYNOTE & SOCIAL EVENING

On Friday 28 April 2023, we have our next social evening. Join Bernat as he discusses how his experiences of live jazz improvisation have informed his mindfulness practice. Attendees will be invited to participate in some mindful listening.

Bernat is a meditation teacher and a postgraduate researcher at the University of Bristol. His dissertation explores the nature of feeling tone (vedanā) and, more specifically, the role of pleasant feeling tones and positive affect in early Buddhist literature.

On Wednesday 03 May 2023, we have our next keynote:

“It’s natural to have preferences -whether it is preferring vanilla over chocolate, or one political party over another.  When you live on auto-pilot, without awareness of how controlled you are by what you like and dislike, you can become a prisoner of your preferences. This could cause you to lose sight of where your preferences are taking you, your relationships and how your choices affect your well-being.”

Join psychotherapist, teacher and comedian Elaine Smookler in a lively discussion where we’ll explore practical antidotes to help you live the full adventure of life instead of being a prisoner of your preferences.
