Now Closed – Recruitment complete. Zoom Drivers – Opportunities to join our team!

** Update - we have had an exceptional response to this opportunity and are no longer accepting applications.

The OMC is developing a new suite of online programmes following the Covid-19 pandemic to enable us to increase access to mindfulness teaching and training globally across all populations and contexts and train the next generation of MBCT teachers. We currently use the Zoom Platform for all our online teaching.

We are seeking experienced professionals who understand the mindfulness community, to support teachers and participants during our online teaching. You will be a self-employed mindfulness practitioner who have good Zoom experience to join a small team of consultants who will create a team of ‘Zoom Drivers’ to support our work.  We would particularly welcome applications from Spanish or Mandarin Chinese speaking professionals who can help up support our international course participants.

This initiative presents a real opportunity to make a difference through effective and essential technical support which is often overlooked but has become a key component of OMC online offerings. Zoom Drivers will remain present throughout the training as a silent observer. The Zoom Drivers will play a role supporting both the teachers / trainers and the course participants, therefore excellent relationship skills are essential along with a patient attitude and a problem-solving mind, in particular with technical difficulties and varying levels of participant technical knowledge.

Reporting to the CEO, the small team of ‘Zoom Drivers’ will be required to work closely with training leads and the administrative staff across the OMC. While a collaborative approach will be a key feature, the Zoom Drivers will also be required to work independently, balancing independence with a close collaboration with the training leads for each event.  With a clear understanding of the OMC vision, Zoom Drivers will exercise sound judgement and discretion in a complex environment. Zoom Drivers will be required to manage their time and be excellent time keepers supporting the OMC training to run on schedule.

The Zoom Drivers will provide IT support to teachers and participants on discrete teaching days / blocks and therefore days and hours will vary considerably from week to week, month to month

 Specifics:

  • Develop solid relationships with training teams, establish ways of working and supporting events to relieve the teaching teams of IT concerns
  • Support online teaching events as the Zoom Driver, providing guidance and support to teachers and participants which includes pre event support for new online users
  • Zoom Drivers will be self-employed and are required to provide all necessary IT equipment which would include a camera, standard computer plus good, stable internet connection.

The OMC team is a small and busy team, working collaboratively with colleagues across the mindfulness field.  This is a new initiative within the team to support the expansion of quality online delivery.  The OMC culture is professional, collaborative and service-oriented, and values transparency, flexibility, trustworthiness, energy and drive with a commitment to the wider vision to increase accessibility of mindfulness globally.

The Zoom Driver requirements are set out as they are envisaged at present, but it will be important for those engaged to be flexible and adaptable.

Update – we have had an exceptional response to this opportunity and are no longer accepting applications.  Thank you for your interest in this role.
