Weekly Update 15th October 2022
Welcome to this week’s update: a summary of everything we’ve shared on social media throughout the week.
SHARING FROM THE OMF
With thanks to academics in the field, we are sharing research with the OMF community. You can read more from a 2022 paper – Clinically relevant effects of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction in individuals with asthma by clicking on the image.
For our book reading this week we have Andrew Waterhouse, one of our teachers and Lead Mentor to Teachers in Training, reading a passage from Thich Nhat Hahn’s Peace is Every Step. Click on the image to listen to Andrew’s reading.
SOCIAL EVENINGS WITH THE OMF
Starting next week!
On the last Friday of each month from 19:00 – 20:00 (UK time) we will be offering a ‘Social Evening’ with guests from around the world joining our mindfulness community.
These monthly sessions are designed to bring the community together once a month with a range of music, comedy, poetry and other online, free events with a mindfulness theme.
Our first session is on Friday 28th October 2022 from 19:00 – 20:00 (UK time) with Adam Bernstein who writes, produces and performs his own music and is active freelance bassist in New York City. We will gather and explore what kind of music we can make after a short meditation and can chat about quieting the judgmental thoughts that may or may not arise. Active contribution is purely voluntary, feel free to simply come along and listen if you’d prefer!
